Entry No.53

My baby girl had her first birthday party on February 20th and I wanted to post some pics. It was very stressful planning the first birthday, I had so much pent up anxiety. I had this ridiculous fear that I would be letting my little girl down because I could have done things better. The dreaded curse of first time parents. Some parents told me the first birthday is the hardest but once you get through it the others are easier, less expectation of course. We will see. My in-laws were kind enough to let us host the party at their house in Mill Valley. We were careful not to trash the place too much! It was hard to relax and enjoy the party as I felt I was forgetting something which inevitably I did. I forgot to take a video and I forgot to put on the cute birthday hat I bought for Ms. P especially. Oh well. Better luck next time.

I made some old timey potato salad. It is always a hit.

Mac and cheese for the kids, though the grown ups ended up tearing through it too.

Catered jambon and buerre sandwiches from By-rite in San Francisco. They make the yummiest food!

Party favor bags filled with decadent pastries from Boulange in Mill Valley. The hydrangeas are from the San Francisco Flower Mart. We saved a bundle buying all the flowers for the party there.
